- Katie called later that evening and told me she and Shanna were going to dinner and then to see some friends. She told me she'd be home around ten or eleven, but it was closer to midnight when I finally heard her come in the door. I was in bed reading, wearing just a pair of boxers. Katie came by the door.
- "Hey, Daddy." "Hey yourself. Did you have fun?"
- "Yeah, it was great."
